Chapter 3: Embodiment

Jesus found refuge among his closest friends in the shadow of recent conflicts. Tonight was different. He summoned his disciples for a special dinner, an intimate gathering with impending significance. As they assembled, anticipation hung in the air, a silent acknowledgment that something profound was about to unfold.

Seated at the head of the table, Jesus took a simple glass of table wine, the liquid within reflecting the dancing light from the candles on the table.

With a haunted gaze, he raised the glass. He uttered words that resonated beyond the immediate confines of the gathering. "This is my blood," he declared, the statement's weight causing a collective pause among his companions. The atmosphere grew charged with an otherworldly intensity. Then, with a piece of toast, he continued, "This is my body." As he broke the bread, a sacred ripple coursed through the room. It was a moment full of meaning, as if the very fabric of time had converged around that simple table. The disciples, still grappling with Jesus's words' implications, exchanged glances. It was as though this simple meal marked the initiation of a profound journey, the first domino falling in a sequence of events that would redefine their understanding of all that had come before and was coming soon.
